November is National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo for short. I have considered doing it in the past but either never had time or felt it was daunting of a task. Writing 50,000 words (or attempting to) in 30 days is taxing, and on the surface, looks quite terrifying.
But I decided to try it this year thanks to a post from The Write Practice titled “4 Reasons NaNoWriMo Rocks,” there was also a giveaway with this certain article that has since passed. What changed my mind was breaking the 50,000 goal into little goals of 1,667 words a day.
Today is day 3, and after a rough day of having my writing time thrown off a bit, I still made the goal. Making 3 different scheduled times for writing really came in handy, especially when something comes up in life. I have found it enjoyable so far and it’s been wonderful to sit down at my desk and type the novel idea I’ve had for over a year now on my computer.
If you are participating this year, how is it going for you?
If there are less posts this month, NaNoWriMo is the reason but don’t worry! All of my posts are here if you ever want to read something! I’m also trying to attempt creating newsletters so hopefully I can do my very first one soon.
Happy NaNoWriMo writers and good luck!!
